Tom Van Tamelen was commissioned by the Ridgeway Clock Company to design stunning limited edition grandfather clocks and wall clocks inspired by America’s largest home, The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC.

Inspired by many priceless artifacts from George Vanderbilt’s collection, this magnificent timepiece embodies the quality and craftsmanship that is Biltmore. Hand crafted in the United States and finished in Estate Cherry, the solid hardwood case features only the finest American Cherry and Crotch Mahogany throughout. The gracefully arched split pediment design shows a book matched crotch mahogany field that is framed with an inlaid border of hard maple and ebonized anegre. The featured vine motif combines Avodire, Black Cherry, Magnolia, and Padauk in a brilliant arrangement. A spiral-carved finial rests on a reeded base between the solid cherry crown mouldings. Only 250 of these limited edition clocks will be created as they will build one to symbolize each of the 250 rooms in the Biltmore Estate.
Ridgeway Biltmore R.M. Hunt 5030 Quartz Chiming Wall Clock
Richard Morris Hunt was an American architect of the nineteenth century and a preeminent figure in the history of American architecture and influenced the designs used for the Biltmore Estate. The Ridgeway RM Hunt Chiming Wall Clock offers a design worthy of his name based on many designs for the Vanderbilt mansion. The clock offers a Brushed nickel dial panel that features beautifully scrolled etchings in bright brass. Antique white dial with Roman numerals. Raised antique brass bezel ring and authentic serpentine hands. Hinged upper access door. A functioning lyre pendulum shows through a beveled glass panel in the lower case. A unique three chime precision battery operated Harmonic-Chime movement strikes your choice of Westminster, Ave Maria or Bim Bam in beautiful tones.
